Reed Richerson is on a mission to show that solar power isn’t just for wealthy homeowners. Under his guidance, Minneapolis-based US Solar is ramping up programs for low- and moderate-income customers. He views these as a way to pass along economic benefits of solar to “those who can really use it.” In 2025, Richerson also aims to expand US Solar’s agrivoltaics projects—essentially, putting solar panels among crops and livestock. Today, the company has close to 1,000 acres of agrivoltaic projects, and he expects to add hundreds more in the years ahead.
