Michelle Mann, one of three co-owners of Mann Theatres, took center stage during the $1.5 million rehab of the historic Edina Theatre’s four-screen theater. The renovated venue opened in October with a showing of The Shining, a fitting debut to match the building’s new upper-level bar designed to mirror the film’s Gold Room. Mann worked to bring back the ambiance of the classic theater experience while integrating modern aspects, including the addition of stages for live performances. “It’s taking it to another level to watch a film,” she says. Mann foresees comedians, musicians, community theater, and TEDx-type talks on the stages in the coming year.
