Architects Jean Rehkamp and Mark Larson design homes and cabins in the Twin Cities, the region, and beyond. Today, Rehkamp Larson, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, is a 15-member studio based in Minneapolis and named by Forbes as a top 200 residential architecture firm in the country. “Our studio designs homes that are authentic reflections of the people who live in them,” says Rehkamp, who also wrote The Farmhouse: New Inspiration for the Classic American Home. Larson, who chaired the AIA Minnesota residential architecture committee and taught architecture at St. Olaf College, says they learn about their clients by understanding how people live—what their daily rhythms are like, and what they value. “Our philosophy revolves around creating spaces with soul that resonate deeply with clients,” Larson says.
