You probably know John Wall’s wife, Patricia, and her magnetic Malcolm Yards food hall, but there are even bigger plans in the works at the site, and developer Wall is behind most of it. “We’re fortunate to have a chance to build out a neighborhood here,” he says. Two buildings of rental and workforce housing will open in 2023. Long-term plans include a regional park/trail, additional structures, and, most spectacularly, housing on top of the grain elevator that looms over the market. Wall also is working on a permanent light show on the grain elevators that he believes will surpass anything in existence globally.
