The weekend that A Bar of Their Own opened in March, patrons were already asking Jillian Hiscock if she had plans for a second location. Judging by lines out the door in those first days, there’s ample demand for a drinking establishment that broadcasts women’s sports exclusively—A Bar of Their Own is one of only four in the nation. Traffic has leveled out since then, but Hiscock says she’s still seeing consistent traffic from regulars. Though not ruling out a second location, Hiscock hopes that, in the meantime, peer bars follow her lead. “I always encourage and challenge existing sports bars to think about turning on women’s sports.”
