Lemonada Media is a Minneapolis-based podcast network with a roster of 60-plus shows ranging from deeply reported series like Blind Plea to smart, chatty celeb-hosted pods like Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Wiser Than Me. Lemonada’s flagship is the incredibly personal Last Day, hosted by company co-founder Stephanie Wittels Wachs; it began in 2019 with a deep examination of the respective last days of Wittels Wachs’ brother, Harris, and Cordova Kramer’s brother, Stefano, who both died after overdosing on heroin. The content is rooted in overcoming adversity—making lemonade from lemons. “What if we made podcasts,” asks Cordova Kramer, “that [motivated] people out of bed in the morning?” Book iterations of the podcasts from Simon & Schuster will launch next year.
