In November, commercial real estate broker Erin Fitzgerald closed on her first property since leaving JLL to form Willow Peak, a real estate company with a focus on downtown redevelopment. It’s a nearly 100,000-square-foot office building at 300 First Ave. N. (home to Café Brenda back in the day) that’s currently 53% leased. Fitzgerald envisions reviving the building with nightlife on the lower level, a food hall on the first floor, a wellness concept, coworking, hospitality suites, and possibly short-term rentals. It’s a formula she plans to replicate elsewhere in town and in other markets. “We’re targeting digital nomads who can work anywhere and want to explore a city. We’re hoping this will be our proof of concept.”
