Anyone who wandered through Mia’s 2025 hit exhibition "Giants," featuring art from Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’s collection, has gotten a taste of curator Casey Riley’s vision: Showcase a fuller representation of art throughout history, including pieces from groups that have not been always highlighted in major museums. “You can’t have excellence without inclusion,” she says. “You could miss people who should be really formative to the field.” Since joining Mia in 2018, she and her team have worked to ensure the full spectrum of artists are featured—and will continue to do so in upcoming exhibitions like the photography show "Containing Multitudes," which runs until August.
