Just one of nine co-founders, Andrea Yoch emphasizes the “group project” aspect of the Minnesota Aurora FC women’s soccer team in the USL W, a pre-professional league. Yoch was tapped to be part of Aurora’s founding group due to her background in sports and marketing. More than 3,000 investors were involved in launching the team, which is women-led and community-owned. Aurora, which recently celebrated its second anniversary, submitted a bid in early November to join the National Women’s Soccer League and was imminently expected to name a full-time CEO.
