In 1981, Pat Fallon and co-founders Tom McElligott, Nancy Rice and Irv Fish began what would quickly become one of the world’s most creative advertising agencies, and they did it in Minneapolis at a time when corporations believed they could only find great agency talent in places such as New York. Fallon McElligott & Rice’s clients included United Airlines, Miller Brewing Co., BMW, Holiday Inn, Coca-Cola and Timex. The firm changed its name to Fallon Worldwide in 2000. Pat passed away in November, but throughout his 34 years of leading Fallon, he and his colleagues influenced or groomed dozens of individuals who today lead several of the nation’s—and in some cases—world’s most elite ad agencies.
