Attorney Robert Tunheim set up his first private equity fund in 1991. Since then, he has counseled numerous private equity groups nationwide in their formation, investments, and liquidation transactions. Based in Minneapolis, he has co-led Ballard Spahr’s Private Equity Group since the national law firm merged with Twin Cities-based Lindquist & Vennum in 2018. To name just one recent accomplishment: Tunheim worked with Northfield-based investment firm Rebound Partners to establish community-based real estate funds. This approach has enabled investors in Minnesota’s midsize cities to fund infrastructure projects and develop their local communities.
