Across four states, Mary Tjosvold oversees health care operations spanning independent and assisted living for seniors, independent-living skills training services and group residential homes for persons with disabilities, home health, and hospice. In 1976, at age 33, she co-founded the Mary T Family of Companies with her mother. Under Tjosvold’s leadership, the Coon Rapids-based company has been an early adopter of community-based care models, moving individuals out of state institutions and into person-centered housing environments. Tjosvold has grown the organization into an ecosystem of more than 455 rental units, four assisted-living campuses, 50-plus group homes, and more. Her leadership has fueled steady growth, with annual revenues of $50 million and more than 600 staff members.
