Through the academic and clinical leadership side of her career, Jessica Kuehn-Hajder has found better ways to provide care at the University of Minnesota and apply it more generally throughout the M Health Fairview health care system. For example, her group has been studying a newer tool called contrast enhanced mammography and is finding that, in addition to locating more cancers than standard mammography does, it is good at characterizing tumors seen on ultrasound prior to biopsy; ideally, this would lead to fewer negative biopsies. Recently, Kuehn-Hajder also has been working with the University of Minnesota Physicians Board and as advisor to the CEO, navigating the group’s future with Fairview in alignment with the U of M Medical School.
