Edwin Torres DeSantiago is no stranger to breaking barriers. Born in El Salvador, he’s a first-generation student and DACA recipient who overcame significant adversity, fueling his passion to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. He brings that zeal to the board of COPAL (Comunidades Organizando el Poder y la Acción Latina) MN in Minneapolis, an organization that mobilizes the Latino community to lead social, political, and economic change. Torres DeSantiago is a familiar fixture at COPAL’s community events, where he often shares his story to inspire others, meets directly with organization members, and connects the organization with funders and donors. In his role as the vice president of public affairs at Minneapolis-based communications firm NewPublica, Torres DeSantiago amplifies the voices of immigrants to shape legislative and political initiatives.
