At Minneapolis-based Hennepin Healthcare, the care system that includes Hennepin County Medical Center, Dr. Deepti Pandita has developed programs that use technology to improve care delivery for underserved and marginalized populations. When the pandemic broke out in March 2020, she led the rapid implementation of virtual care for patients who couldn’t access the clinics. This included a system of virtual care including digital, video, and telephone visits to connect providers with patients. Pandita and her team also worked to bridge the digital divide to ensure equitable use of telehealth by all patients served by the system.
