Chad Drown is one of Faegre Drinker’s go-to trial lawyers for high-stakes IP trials, having won three trial victories for defendants in IP cases where the damages exposure topped $1 billion dollars. The wins have been piling up since 2006, and this past April, Drown and his team won a complete defense verdict for California-based Seagate Technology, a multibillion-dollar patent jury trial involving Seagate’s hard disk drives; after a five-hour deliberation, the jury returned a complete defense verdict of non-infringement. In the Minneapolis firm, Drown dedicates himself to helping others take the next step in their career. He’s created a year-long IP litigation training program for associates, mentored a diverse group of lawyers in trials, and has taught courses on trial advocacy across the country and at the University of Minnesota law school.
