“As chair of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota board of trustees, Pam Moret set the tone for how board members should both support and guide me,” says Dana Erickson, president and CEO of the Eagan-based nonprofit company. With Moret’s guidance, Blue Cross has navigated major strategic changes, including the acquisition of Simple Pay and the creation of the Coupe alternative health plan. Moret’s approach is “nose in, fingers out,” Erickson says, meaning she stays on top of relevant news and thinks deeply about the company without stepping into management. Prior to her retirement, Moret was president and CEO of Brightpeak Financial, an independent division of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and senior vice president of strategic development for Thrivent.
