Lee Davis was recovering from cancer surgery and treatment when he was asked to be board chair of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Greater Minneapolis. Active with the board since 2019. Davis didn’t hesitate. Leaning on his Target HR experience, he helped create an action plan for DEI and attracting and retaining top talent. His efforts included working with the organization’s Emerging Leaders Council to create a greater presence at college and high school career fairs. He spearheaded a partnership with the Commercial Real Estate Diversity Collaborative to raise money for scholarships at local colleges and tech schools, and he oversaw a $756,000 state grant to grow the number of building engineers. “In all facets, Lee went above and beyond to make our organization successful,” says BOMA Greater Minneapolis president and CEO Sarah Anderson.
