MN Designer Outfitted Super Bowl Halftime Dancers
Baxter-based Just For Kix-a dancewear design company that operates dance classes and camps-made the glowing unitards worn by halftime dancers at the Super Bowl, the Brainerd Dispatch recently reported.
According to the Brainerd Dispatch, Cindy Clough, CEO of Just For Kix, flew to Texas early last week with her daughter-who ended up filling an open spot in the halftime show-to help choreography organizers with the costumes.
Clough was reportedly asked in December to design and make the 390 costumes for the halftime show, which featured the Black Eyes Peas.
“Doing these costumes is the biggest thing we've ever done,” Clough told the newspaper. “It'll open some doors for us. We were able to get this job because of people we know.”
Clough told the Brainerd Dispatch that Kristen Patterson Terry, a former Just For Kix intern and summer camp dance teacher who was in charge of doing the choreography for the Super Bowl, got Just For Kix the designing gig.
Just For Kix was founded in 1981 and operates three divisions: dance classes and camps, special events-including the Outback Bowl National Dance Tour, and a dance clothing catalog.
