This year, Minneapolis restaurateur Wayne Kostroski won a James Beard award—but not for his cooking. At least not directly. He was recognized for developing the Taste of the NFL, an annual party held just before the Super Bowl that raises money for hunger relief organizations.
A similar event worth serving up: June’s Taste of the Nation/Minneapolis, featuring chefs from top local eateries including Bar La Grassa, Solera, and Salty Tart. The event raised funds to fight childhood hunger.
