Eagan-based health insurer Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (BCBS) in September launched its “Tomorrow” television commercial, a one-minute spot featuring overweight individuals (and a couple of smokers) singing about beginning their healthy practices—tomorrow. The commercial culminates with the message: “Today is the day we stop making excuses.” Minneapolis ad agency Mono handled the creative for the commercial, which directs people to the BCBS website, where health-coaching tools like a body-mass index calculator are available; the site’s traffic almost doubled following the commercial’s launch.
