Best Buy Now Offers an Array of Fitness Products
Richfield-based electronics retailer Best Buy Company, Inc., has rolled out a line of health and fitness products.
The company announced Friday that it is now selling personal fitness gear, such as heart-rate monitoring watches, pedometers, hand weights, yoga and pilates mats, fitness DVDs, and blood pressure monitors at 600 stores nationwide, and online at BestBuy.com.
The fitness line is now available in most stores in the Twin Cities, according to a Best Buy spokesperson.
Best Buy tested selling these products in 40 stores outside of Minnesota earlier this year, before rolling them out nationally. Locations carrying the products have added a 30-foot-long area in the store, displaying manufacturers such as Gaiam, GoFit, H2O Audio, MIO, Polar, Sportline, and Yurbuds.
“We were encouraged by the enthusiastic response we saw from our customers during the initial pilot of these health and fitness products,” Chris Koller, vice president of Best Buy's portable electronics solutions group, said in a statement. He said that with the national rollout, the company aims to “arm its consumers with the latest tools available for enhancing their fitness conditioning.”
Best Buy is Minnesota's third-largest public company based on revenue, which exceeded $49 billion in its most recent fiscal year.
