In the past 25 years, Great Clips CEO Ray Barton has built Great Clips into the world’s largest hair-care brand, expanding the franchise from four salons with annual sales of $1 million to 2,700 salons—more than any other company anywhere—with sales in 2007 of $650 million. In 2006 and again in 2007 Entrepreneur magazine named Great Clips as one of the nation’s top-25 fastest-growing franchises. Barton’s goal: 3,000 salons in 2009 with sales in excess of $1 billion.

Outside Activities: Active fundraiser for several charities including Children’s Hospitals and Clinics, member of the boards of directors of Children Hospitals and Clinics-Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation and serves on several advisory boards of private corporations. Has served on the boards of directors of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools and Junior Achievement Association of the Upper Midwest. Volunteer instructor for the College of St. Thomas in the area of franchising. Long-time member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and World Presidents’ Organization
