Lee Ehmke plans to make the Minnesota Zoo one of the top ten zoos in America, partly through a physical redevelopment for which the Minnesota Legislature has approved $45 million in capital funding—a level of support without precedent in the Zoo’s 29-year history—and partly by building new exhibits. He is responsible for spearheading the Zoo’s Meerkats of the Kalahari, Ghosts of Madagascar, and Creatures Beneath the Canopy exhibits, and for the Zoo's recently renewed Minnesota Trail.
