Marianne Short, the managing partner of the Dorsey & Whitney law
firm—Minnesota’s second-largest—since
January 2007, has 30 years of courtroom experience as a trial lawyer and
appellate judge. As a specialist in antitrust, securities, healthcare,
product-liability law, she has represented clients that include Medica
HealthPlans, Ceridian Corporation, Qwest, 3M, and—in case to determine
Minnesota’s Congressional and legislative boundaries—Governor Jesse Ventura.
Within the past year, she has served as President of the Minneapolis Club and a
trustee of St. Thomas
Academy, associate trustee of
Boston
College, and a member of the boards
of Children’s HeartLink, the Minnesota Business Partnership, and the Fund for
Legal Aid Society.
