As Life Time gears up to open its 24th Twin Cities location, the company has announced plans to host a hiring fair Tuesday, September 24. The Chanhassen-based company is looking to fill 200 positions to staff its newest location at Southdale Center in Edina—which is its largest project to date.
The new center is slated open by year’s end, a company spokeswoman said via email.
Referred to by the company as an “athletic resort,” the facility is a three-story. 147,000-square-foot entity that will include co-working-style Life Time Work spaces, a roof pool deck, a spa, Life Time Sport spaces, and a cardiovascular and resistance training center.
"Our hiring fair gets us [closer] to our opening and is a great way for us to find enthusiastic people who are passionate about health and wellness and eager to be part of a team that is dedicated to inspiring others to live happy, healthy lives,” said Shawn Severson, general manager of Life Time Edina at Southdale, in a statement.
Life Time also is inviting people to learn about the new facility and its amenities at a “preview center” in the mall.
The Life Time Edina is expected to draw substantial membership. In May, Life Time CEO and founder Bahram Akradi told TCB that the company already had a list of more than 4,000 people interested in joining the Edina club.
The club will launch as other Life Time projects are underway elsewhere, including a Life Time Work in Houston, and dozens more sports, co-working, and high-end apartment complexes across the country. These will expand Life Time’s existing portfolio of 145 destinations across 39 markets in the U.S. and Canada.
Life Time opened its first co-working space in St. Louis Park early this spring.
