SiriusXM Satellite Radio on Wednesday announced a new weekly show hosted by former U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.), who resigned in January 2018 amid sexual misconduct allegations.
On the show, Franken will talk with “headliners and experts” in politics, entertainment, media, technology, and global affairs, according to a SiriusXM press release.
The first guest on the show’s premiere will be comedian and actor Chris Rock. For future shows, scheduled guests include former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and comedian Patton Oswalt.
Besides hosting his own show, Franken will regularly appear on other shows on the SiriusXM Progress progressive talk radio channel, the press release said. Franken will also join with others for special coverage of the 2020 presidential debates, primaries, and election.
This won’t be Franken’s first time on the airwaves; more than a decade ago, he launched a show on the “Air America” radio network. (He left that program to run for U.S. Senate.)
Franken’s latest show will run for an hour, premiering Saturday mornings.
