Sportradar, a sports data intelligence company, has landed a deal to be Dish Networks’s official sports data provider. The agreement means Sportradar’s analytics technology will power Dish platforms, including Dish’s Game Finder app, which provides customers with up-to-the-minute box scores and other updates from live games
The partnership covers Sportradar data for a variety of major sports leagues, including the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, and National Hockey League.
“Dish is a well-respected leader in the pay-TV space and has been a mainstay for consumers for nearly 40 years,” said Brian Josephs, vice president of digital sport at Sportradar, in a press release. “We look forward to working with Dish in providing fresh and enhanced sports data experiences for its loyal customers.”
Sportradar has secured a number of other partnerships this year. The company, which is based in Switzerland but runs its U.S. operations out of Minneapolis, landed a multi-year contract with the MLB in February to be the league’s exclusive data distributor for sports betting operators in the U.S.
That same month, Sportradar beefed up its own technological capabilities through a deal with New York-based interactive content provider Arkadium. Per that arrangement, Sportradar agreed to plug its data into Arkadium’s InHabit product. For its part, Arkadium agreed to convert the data into interactive visuals, which media outlets can include in their stories for reader engagement.
And last week, Sportradar announced a deal with football media platform Onefootball to add a data component to Onefootball’s game viewing offering.
