Ascentis, an Eden Prairie-based provider of cloud-based human capital management solutions, has acquired Milwaukee-based software company Integrated Time Systems (ITS). The deal marks Ascentis’ third acquisition in seven months, following late 2018 deals for similar IT solution companies NOVAtime and Cincinnati Time Systems.

Terms of the ITS deal were not disclosed, nor was it noted if any jobs would be affected by the transaction. However, Brian Provost, Ascentis CEO, implied in a statement that the ITS team would remain intact, saying, “we are excited to have the ITS team join the Ascentis family.”

Founded in 1980, Ascentis offers an all-in-one management platform for human resources and payroll functions. Its applications include recruiting, HRIS, benefits administration, and more.

In acquiring ITS, as well as California-based NOVAtime and Michigan-based Cincinnati Time Systems, Ascentis expands the scope and depth of its workforce management initiatives, as all three companies specialize in time and attendance solutions.

“Our acquisition strategy of joining forces with the industry's top workforce management solutions… who share our passion and commitment for unparalleled customer service,” says Provost, “is a key ingredient to our objective of providing a la cart HR technology with the flexibility to integrate and deploy solutions and capabilities as the organization grows.”

The ITS deal also particularly enhances Ascentis’ presence in the Midwest.

For ITS, the company will be able to provide additional services to its customers.

"We're thrilled to strengthen and optimize our client offerings within the local economies in which ITS currently serves,” says ITS owner and president Chris Kapenga.

ITS currently primarily operates in southeastern Wisconsin, though a 2015 acquisition of Texas software company Accutronics expanded its geographic reach.

Ascentis serves 5,000 clients across a variety of industries and since bringing NOVAtime into the fold, has a workforce of more than 400 people.
