Snap Fitness Partnering with Tim McGraw on Custom Gyms

“Fitness and healthy living are a key part of my music and life,” said McGraw, who, at 49, is known for promoting healthy habits and working out regularly.

Chanhassen-based gym franchise Snap Fitness is partnering with Grammy Award-winner Tim McGraw to create a line of fitness clubs geared around the country musician’s workout routines and music.

Snap announced the exclusive two-year partnership on Wednesday, which includes the creation of several custom-designed gyms and fitness activities. McGraw and Snap will split the equity investment of the project fifty-fifty, according to the Star Tribune.

“Tim’s passion for helping people get healthy is authentic to his core,” Snap founder Peter Taunton said in a statement. “His values align with ours: to help people achieve their health and wellness goals. Having Tim’s involvement will help encourage and motivate more people to start exercising and pay better attention to their health and well-being.”

Locations for the McGraw-designed gyms have not been pick out yet, however the first is expected to open before the end of the year or in early 2018. Each fitness center will go by the name Tru Mav Signature Clubs — short for “true maverick.”

Plans for the clubs include custom equipment and workout programs, Snap said, which will be based off McGraw’s own workout routines and music.

“These gyms will help folks who are short on time find their fit,” McGraw said in a joint release with Snap. “Working out becomes a habit when it’s an easy part of everyday life, and that’s why I’m partnering with Snap Fitness. They’re encouraging communities that support people who are working toward their own fitness goals.”

Snap, founded in 2003, has rapidly grown to be one of the largest 24/7 fitness clubs in the world with approximately 2,000 locations open or in development in 19 countries.
