Mayo Clinic’s Think Big Challenge Narrows To Five Finalists
Two Minnesotans advanced to the final round of the Mayo Clinic’s Think Big Challenge.

Brandon Johnson, a Minneapolis entrepreneur, and Dale Fasching, a pharmacist from Mound, were selected for their strong pitches to bring a Mayo Clinic technology to market.

Rochester-based Mayo kicked off the competition in July, as it called for innovators, entrepreneurs and businesses to develop a go-to-market strategy for one of four Mayo med-tech properties. The winner of the Think Big Challenge will score a $50,000 cash prize, along with the opportunity to lead a team at Mayo and license the chosen technology.

The other three finalists include Lisa Tweardy, principal of North Carolina-based medtech consultancy Kemo Sabe; David Heenan, co-founder of Georgia-based research service provider Aces Health; and Shantanu Nigam, founder of Georgia-based artificial intelligence company Jvion.

The winner of the competition will be chosen on September 15 at Transform 2016, an innovation conference being held at the Mayo Clinic Civic Center in Rochester.
