If you grab dinner at popular downtown Minneapolis steakhouse Manny's next month, you may be surprised at who serves up your porterhouse.
On October 24 from 7 to 10 p.m., Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway and some of his teammates will trade in their purple and gold for an apron during "Celebrity Waiter Night."
Tickets cost $350 and include tax, gratuity, and valet service. Information regarding reservations is available here.
Proceeds from the evening, which will include an auction, will benefit Greenway's Lead the Way Foundation, an Eden Prairie-based nonprofit that aims "to enrich the lives of individuals and families in need." The foundation hosts several charitable events throughout the year, including three signature programs designed to aid critically and chronically ill children and their families.
The Celebrity Waiter Night event will feature passed hors d'oeuvres like jumbo shrimp appetizers, Caesar salads, and a multi-course dinner including dry aged center cut porterhouse steaks or pan-roasted chicken oreganata-all presented by Manny's Executive Chef Josh Hill.
Manny's, which has been featured by Twin Cities Business as a top spot for having a good meal with a valued client, was listed in the Zagat guide as one of the top five American steakhouses.
