Himle Horner Changes Name, Moves to Mpls.

The new name reflects ownership changes that have occurred in recent years; former co-owner Thomas Horner left the firm in 2010, and Todd Rapp became a co-owner in 2008 and now shares that title with CEO and founder John Himle.

Local public relations firm Himle Horner, Inc., said Monday that it has changed its name to Himle Rapp & Company, Inc.

The firm also moved its office from Bloomington to the 24th floor of the Accenture Tower in downtown Minneapolis.

"This year we've taken significant steps to expand the services we offer our clients, particularly in the area of corporate reputation," CEO and co-owner John Himle said in a statement. "Moving downtown will further position us to expand our offerings while better servicing our clients."

The firm's new name reflects ownership changes that have occurred in recent years. Thomas Horner, who joined the firm and became a co-owner in 1989, left in 2010 to pursue a run for governor. Two years before that, in 2008, Todd Rapp became a co-owner-and he and Himle are the sole co-owners today.

The company was founded by Himle as Himle & Associates, Inc., in 1982.

"Although our location and name are changing, our standards of client-focused service are not," said Rapp, who serves as president. "We do not succeed unless our clients succeed and we will continue to provide the same top-notch service that Himle Horner has provided for the past 29 years."

Himle Rapp-which has a new Web site that reflects its name change-specializes in reputation management, public affairs strategy and communications, crisis management, social media, corporate social responsibility, and research services. It is among Minnesota's 10-largest public relations firms based on net fee income, which exceeds $3 million annually.
