The Pro-Former 9000 Ink Jet Mailing Machine is shape-based pricing compliant. It allows a customer to place different sizes (letter or flats), shapes, and weights into the feeder; the machine determines the cost of each piece. Customers avoid over payment and reduce processing time—potentially saving thousands of dollars.

Previous models ran too fast and the envelope sealer units could not keep up—some envelopes weren’t sealed. Ink cartridges would leave a blank spot on indicia, and often the postage amount would not appear which meant that the customer would have to reprint a label to go over the blank indicia. The Pro-Former 9000 runs at an optimal speed to solve those problems—up to 130 pieces per minute of mixed mail. The system has a maximum output of 9,000 pieces per hour.

The system also features:

• The ability to download postage from USPS Web site
• An envelope moistener and sealer
• Quiet operation at high speeds
• Interfaces with accounting and shipping software

The main reason to look at a new in-office mailing system is because the post office is moving toward all-electronic services and away from paper. The DM400 Digital Mailing System does a better job at sealing materials and is compliant with current and proposed postal regulations. The integrated scale weighs pieces up to 149 pounds. The system is modular so you can purchase only those modules that your company needs.

New printer modules print crisp black-and-white or color addresses, graphics, and bar codes on envelopes, postcards, folded newsletters, and catalogs. The mail management software cleanses and updates existing lists, helps customers take advantage of postal discounts by presorting mail, and can track 50 user accounts.

The DM400 can seal and apply postage to mail of various sizes, from postcards to large envelopes, at up to 95 pieces per minute. A warning goes off to let you know that you’re running low on postage. Postage refills can be downloaded from the Web 24 hours a day, and postage accounting data can be printed or exported to a PC.

The DM400 allows users to interact with special post office services, such as delivery confirmation, signature confirmation, and certified mail, saving them trips to the post office.
