The
F3 seating collection manufactured by Hon Company was featured in the Wall
Street Journal and won an ergonomics award at the Neocon furniture and design
show one year ago. In the past, users adjusted different levers to accommodate
the position they wanted to sit in, but in addition, now ergonomic chairs use
“passive” adjustments in the foam cushion and fabrics, for example, that
automatically adjust to a person’s body. People come in different shapes and
sizes, and due to a more collaborative environment where there’s a lot of job
sharing, workers need to be able to quickly adjust a chair to their
preferences.
The F3 seating collection gets this done by offering new ilira fabric, a three-way stretch knit with long-term elasticity and memory—the fabric returns to its original shape after someone has been sitting on it. The chairs are available in mesh—which is still popular and keeps workers cool—in off-white and neutral colors, but can be ordered in any fabric the customer desires, from leather to health care fabric.
The
chairs are perfect for workstations, open-floor office configurations, and
conference rooms. More and more, companies are choosing office chairs that have
fabrics, sealants, and other components that don’t put off fumes, chairs made
with recycled materials, and chairs that are recyclable themselves.
