Local restaurateur Kam Talebi and his company Kaskaid Hospitality are expanding again.
Talebi and his partners at Kaskaid—the parent company to restaurants Crave, Figlio, Urban Eatery, and Union—have reached an agreement to purchase the former Trocaderos nightclub property in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood, according to a Star Tribune report.
They plan to convert the 23,000-square-foot space into the “Muse Event Center,” a multi-level building that will host corporate and private events, the Minneapolis newspaper reported. Talebi reportedly declined to disclose the purchase price but said he expects the event center to open this fall.
The owners of Fitger’s Brewhouse in Duluth said last summer that they planned to buy the space and convert it into a brewpub, but those plans fell through.
Meanwhile, Kaskaid continues to grow elsewhere. Crave will open a ninth location in Austin, Texas—and Kaskaid plans to lease the Old Chicago space in Uptown Minneapolis, according to the Star Tribune. The concept for the Uptown space, which will include an outdoor patio, has not yet been revealed.
In 2012, Talebi was named by Twin Cities Business as one of “200 Minnesotans You Should Know”.
