Comedian Stephen Colbert famously coined the word “truthiness” to describe the kind of “truth” people claim to know through intuition or gut feelings, regardless of facts, logic, or evidence to the contrary. Since then, truthiness has become shorthand for all sorts of deception and reality-distortion in our public discourse, making it an ideal concept for artists to explore. Twenty-eight internationally acclaimed artists do just that, in a landmark exhibit organized by the MIA and Site Santa Fe.
