The selection of the 2013 Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs Of The Year for the Upper Midwest started with hundreds of suggestions, which in turn led to dozens of formal nominations. The panel of judges conducted site visits and interviews, narrowing the field to 27 finalist companies. From this group, the judges made the challenging decision of choosing this year’s nine winning companies and their leaders.
In addition, this year’s award recipients include Randall Hogan, chairman and CEO of Pentair, Ltd., whose entrepreneurial endeavors were recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 2013 Entrepreneurs Of The Year were honored June 13 at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center. They are now candidates for the national Entrepreneur of the Year awards, which will take place in November in Palm Springs, California. Whether or not the Upper Midwest winners earn national honors, they deserve a round of applause.
