Several local companies—including Summit Brewing, Salty Tart, and Andrew Zimmern’s own AZ Canteen—were nominated for awards, which recognized the nation’s best in 20 food-related categories.
Ernst & Young, LLP, announced the competition’s finalists for the Upper Midwest region, 20 of whom are leaders of Minnesota-based companies.
Entrepreneurs seeking exposure and a share of $200,000 in start-up capital have until May 17 to submit their proposals.
Six of the nine Minnesota companies recognized are based in Rochester.
The awards honor those who play a significant role in discovering new technologies that educate and improve the lives and futures of people living in Minnesota and all over the world.
The magazine received the premier award—along with six gold awards, four silver awards, and five bronze awards—at the Minnesota Magazine & Publishing Association’s 2012 awards event, which recognizes excellence in publishing.
